A Study on the Sustainable Solid Waste Management, the Missing-Link was conducted around Bauchi Metropolis, cluster random sampling was employed where by the whole of Bauchi metropolis were divided into (21) units (Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) inspection units). Questionnaires were administered randomly among 105 trained and untrained BASEPA waste management staff, data were collected and analyses using frequency and percentage table. It was reveal that insufficient fund to manage solid waste generated in the metropolis, misappropriation of the little funds available for solid waste management, open dumping of solid waste and obsolete equipment for solid waste management are some of the problems affecting sustainable solid waste management in Bauchi metropolis. The research recommend that State Government should increase their budgetary allocation to the State Ministry/Agency saddle with the responsibility of addressing all the environmentally related problem(solid waste inclusive)so as to cope with the current environmental management challenges, Government should also make it mandatory for anybody going into waste management business to have an area for land filling all the waste collected from their various collection points and also punitive measures should be put in place for any of them that engage in open dumping of waste. The research further recommend that government should incorporate the informal waste collectors: like the scavengers into its solid waste management programme.
